The expectations of the control center and field operations workforce are changing. Employees no longer see these positions as a place to retire from, but as a stepping stone to greater things. Rather than losing high-potential employees to opportunities outside of your organization, invest and retain them with a specialized program which helps them build the skills they need to meet their potential and advance their careers.
Developed to focus on the specific needs of electric utility operations departments rather than a generic leadership training program, the QTS Operational Leader Program (OLP) is a multi-month training program, consisting of instructor-led, in-person, and virtual training classes, coaching, assessments, and peer group-driven special projects to foster leadership and supervisory skills.
The OLP is focused on delivering results to participating organizations in three key ways: Through Self (Personal Excellence), With Others (Team/Project Work), and Through Others (Leading Direct Reports).
Each learning journey is unique and tailored to the development needs and growth goals of the participants, and participants are encouraged to share best practices and ideas among the attendees from different companies and work sites.
OLP participants will complete an operational project allowing the trainee to practice and apply skills learned, engage with management, and add immediate value to their organization. The completed program includes 40+ hours of leadership skill-building training and a minimum of 10 hours of professional development coaching.
