Instructional Designer (Remote)

The ideal candidate for the Instructional Designer position will develop, and implement innovative, creative, and cost-effective eLearning and instructor-led solutions for our customers’ training challenges. You will partner with our in-house technical experts to develop this training in support for our clients throughout the US and Canada.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, maintain cost effective eLearning and instructor-led training solutions and in a variety of mediums, including print, webinars, classroom guides, eLearning, and video, to develop interactive and appealing materials within strict budget limits
  • Analyze existing instructional material to suggest and apply improvements, assess learning needs, and develop online learning or traditional (paper based) content and materials
  • Work remotely with client subject matter experts to collect data for job analysis, training needs, performance requirements, operating procedures, technical systems, processes, and other related information.
  • Work within a team to complete project tasks, assuring quality of deliverables, and tracking time
  • Organize and enter data into our flagship software program, Quality Training Database
  • Solve learning challenges creatively using eLearning products such as Articulate 360 Storyline and Articulate 360 Rise

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Education: a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree is preferred) in Instructional Design, Online Education/Learning Technologies/Educational Technology, or Education/Training related degree
  • 2-5 years of experience in Instructional Design, including ability to:
    • Leverage eLearning tools and technologies (e.g., Articulate 360 Rise, etc.) to develop and enhance training materials
    • Design training courses and programs to meet client needs
    • Develop training materials including lesson plans, on-the-job training guides, tests, performance assessments, etc., consistent with the principles of adult learning theory and instructional design theory
  • A strong willingness to “Make it Happen” and deliver value to clients

  • Work location must be within the United States

Notes:

  • Experience developing training for software applications a plus but not required
  • Experience in the electric utility industry a plus but not required
  • Equivalent combinations of formal education, training, and experience may be considered
  • Full time 40-hour work week with occasional after hours or weekend scheduled work. Work hours for this position are based on Central time zone regular business hours: 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday
  • Salary Range: $55K to $65K plus excellent health, dental, vision, life, short-term and long-term disability insurance; and 401K benefits offered
  • This is a fully remote position, however minimal travel may be required (10% or less)
